Sam Brock is an American award-winning journalist who works for the Chicago-based NBC 5. He joined the team in September 2012. Brock does reporting for NBC Bay Area’s evening news broadcasts and on the station’s digital platforms.

Biography, Education, Wife, Career;

Sam attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he received a bachelor’s degree with a major in English. He later enrolled in Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism graduating with a Master of Science degree in Journalism.

Prior to joining NBC News, he worked for WTVR in Richmond, Virginia as an anchor and a political reporter, anchoring at 5 pm. Sam grew up in Westchester County in New York, attending Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he received a bachelor’s degree with a major in English. He later enrolled in Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism graduating with a Master of Science degree in Journalism.

Brock kicked off his career at TV-3 in Winchester, Virginia. After joining the NBC Bay Area, he received an Emmy award for his reporting of the Ghost Ship warehouse shooting in Oakland.

He has also has been covering the Kate Steinle Murder trial from start to finish, the death of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, and the destructive Wine Country fires. Prior to joining NBC Bay Area, he served as a 5 P.M anchor and political reporter for WTVR in Richmond, Virginia.

In his four-year tenure, Sam covered vast topics such as gun policy, women’s rights issues, and a sequence of stories investigating Virginia care for its intellectually disabled residents.

Brock is a married man. He is married to his lovely Gabriela Dellan, a journalist who works as a Meteorologist at KSTS-TV. Sam and his wife Gabriela after dating for 5 five years they decided to tie the knot on January 20, 2018. The wedding ceremony took place at the Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, Florida.
