Natalie Nougayrède is a French journalist and writer. She works for The Guardian as a foreign affairs commentator for the British newspaper. Before joining The Guardian, Natalie worked for Le Monde as the executive and managing editor.

Nougayrède began reporting in 1991, focusing on Eastern Europe. She began her career with the French daily Libération in 1995 before moving on to Le Monde in 1997. She rose to prominence for her coverage of Russian news, and she received two prizes for her coverage of the Second Chechen War and the Beslan school siege.

Natalie was based in Paris since 2005 and became recognized for asking challenging questions of French authorities, despite government pressure for Le Monde to cease. When her invitations to press conferences and official engagements were revoked after she addressed questions to Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, the publication accused the administration of boycotting her.In May 2014, Natalie resigned from Le Monde due to disagreements about suggested reforms. She then joined The Guardian as a writer and international affairs pundit.
