Dion Lim Biography and Wiki

Dion Lim is an American news reporter and anchor who currently works at ABC7 (KGO-TV) as a reporter whereby she reports mainly on violence against Asian Americans. She previously worked in Tampa Bay Florida as a reporter.

Lim’s first on-air job was in Springfield, Massachusetts, and she later moved to Kansas City to work as an anchor. Lim has previously served as a news anchor in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Tampa, Florida. She was subjected to racism from viewers while working, including being compared to Connie Chung.

When the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, Lim was working for KGO-TV. She had previously reported on attacks on Asians, such as the attack on an old man collecting cans in San Francisco, but during the pandemic, she observed incidents of anti-Asian animosity increase. In an op-ed, she stated that reporting on the attacks gave her meaning.

Dion had a tense interview with San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin in January 2021. Lim questioned him about a tragic automobile crash caused by Troy McAlister, a parolee Boudin’s office had previously declined to charge after earlier breaches.

Lim is dedicated to elevating the voices of people of color, and she has been at the forefront of bringing attention to the bigotry and violence directed at Asian Americans in the Bay Area. Her work has been shown on ABC News Live, Nightline, Good Morning America, and 20/20 across the country.
