Susan Wojcicki is an American-Polish business executive and most commonly the CEO of YouTube. She has been in the technology industry for over 20 years. She was among the founding members of Google and served as the company’s first marketing manager in 1999.
Larry Page and Sergey Brin established an office in Wojcicki’s garage in Menlo Park in September 1998, the same month Google was launched. Before becoming Google’s first marketing manager in 1999, Wojcicki worked in marketing at Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, California, and as a management consultant at Bain & Company and R.B. Webber & Company.
While at Google, she was involved in the first viral marketing activities as well as the first Google Doodles. Wojcicki played a crucial role in the establishment of one of Google’s primary advertising products, AdSense, in 2003. She was the company’s first product manager, and she received the Google Founders’ Award for her achievements.
Wojcicki was appointed CEO of YouTube in February 2014. She has been dubbed “the most significant person in advertising,” as well as “the most powerful woman on the Internet.” She was selected as one of Time’s 100 most influential people in 2015, and she was labeled as “the most powerful woman on the Internet” in a subsequent edition of Time.
