Wilson’s surgeon character, who works at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, is written off the show as leaving the city to return to her native Nigeria.

The Resident is based on Marty Makary’s book Unaccountable and was created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi. The series, which premiered its fourth season in January, follows a group of doctors as they deal with personal and professional issues on a daily basis.
