Hughes worked at WCNC TEGNA in Charlotte, North Carolina where he joined the station reporting sports segment and after his brilliant work, he was upgraded to serve the role of a news anchor. It was after this that he landed a job at CBS 46 in August 2020.

While at WCNC TEGNA, he began as a sports reporter and was later upgraded. He also worked at WISH-TV in the Indianapolis, Indiana Area as a sports Photographer Stringer where he was among the editors, writers, and those involved in shooting the WISH-TV’s high school football show called The Zone for a period of four months.

He later got a job at Kansas First News as a Weekend Sports Anchor in the Topeka, Kansas Area where he covered a wide range of very detailed sports for one year and ten months. Furthermore, he moved to West Lafayette and joined the WLFI station working as Sports Director for over seven years. He spends his leisure time mostly grilling out or watching sports.
