Rachel Hannah Weisz is an award-winning British actress. She has received numerous honors, including an Academy, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Laurence Olivier Award, and a British Academy Film Award.

Weisz has appeared on the covers of magazines such as Vogue throughout her career. She was a muse for fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez and was chosen as a worldwide ambassador for L’Oréal in 2010. Weisz, who was born in the United Kingdom, became a naturalized US citizen in 2011.

Weisz began her acting career in the early 1990s on British theatre and television, and she made her film debut in Death Machine (1994). She made her stage debut as Gilda in Sean Mathias’s 1994 revival of Noel Coward’s Design for Living at the Gielgud Theatre, for which she got the London Critics’ Circle Award for a Most Promising Newcomer. A recent review praised her performance as “amazing.”

Weisz began her cinematic career with a modest role in the 1994 picture Death Machine, but her breakthrough came in the 1996 film Chain Reaction, in which she co-starred with Keanu Reeves and Morgan Freeman. While the picture received generally unfavorable reviews (it has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 16%), it was a moderate financial success.

Weisz appeared on Broadway with her husband, Daniel Craig, in a revival of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal in 2013. It first opened on October 27, 2013, and closed on January 5, 2014.

Despite mixed reviews, it grossed $17.5 million at the box office, making it the second-highest-grossing Broadway play of 2013. Weisz starred as Evanora in the fantasy epic Oz the Great and Powerful the same year. She appeared in the drama film Youth and the science fiction picture The Lobster in 2015. The film was awarded the Jury Prize at Cannes.

It was announced in June 2021 that Weisz and Colin Farrell would co-star in Todd Solondz’s Love Child. It was reported in October 2021 that she will star in a new film adaptation of Seance on a Wet Afternoon, based on Mark McShane’s novel of the same name and directed by Tomas Alfredson.
