Teale began his career as a researcher, producer, director, and series producer for ITV’s East Midlands news service before going on to the Regional Programmes Department, where he worked as a researcher, producer, director, and series producer on a number of regional and network shows. In 2007, he did his final sports report for Central Tonight before moving on to ITN’s Setanta Sports News.

Teale and Rachel Brookes co-hosted the daily 17:00-21:00 p.m. hour until the channel went off the air in June 2009. He also presented the first season of Setanta Sports’ Indian Premier League cricket coverage, as well as boxing, cricket, and mixed martial arts specials.
