Mark Consuelos is an American actor best known as starring as Mateo Santos on the ABC soap opera All My Children from 1995 to 2001 and 2010. He is also known for portraying Hiram Lodge on The CW drama Riverdale. His breakthrough came when he landed the role of  Mateo Santos on the soap opera All My Children.

Mark had his breakthrough role in February 1995, when he got the role of Mateo Santos in the serial opera All My Children. He met his on-screen love interest, Kelly Ripa, there and secretly married her in Las Vegas in May 1996. Harmon was one of the few people who knew that co-stars Ripa and Consuelos were not only dating but married.

Consuelos co-starred in Amazon’s Alpha House as Florida Senator Andy Guzman in 2013, a political comedy created by Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau. Consuelos, who co-stars with John Goodman, plays one of four Republican senators who share a residence on Capitol Hill.

During the summer of 2014, he spent filming the second season. Consuelos was cast as Oscar Arguello in a new FOX series, Pitch, in 2016. He was cast as Hiram Lodge, a series regular on The CW’s Riverdale, in 2017.

Starting in the third season, his oldest son, Michael Consuelos, plays a younger Hiram Lodge. His final episode as a series regular was the fifth season finale, which marked the end of his four-season run.

Consuelos plays the role of Hiram Lodge in the CW series Riverdale. He is the husband of Hermione Lodge and the father of Veronica Lodge. He is involved in a number of unlawful activities which ends up in him being jailed.

In Riverdale’s third season, Mark stars on the series together with his son Michael who plays younger Hiram Lodge. He was excited to star with his son on the show and even shared behind-the-scenes footage of himself and Michael, 24, on the set of Riverdale in August 2021.
