Lucy Ayoub Biography

Lucy Ayoub is a beautiful Israeli TV host, anchor, and radio host. She currently works for Keshet Media Group. As a radio host, She worked for the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.

In 2016, Lucy Ayoub caught public attention through her poetry performances at Poetry Slam Israel. That same year, she joined the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC) and began contributing written pieces and videos. In 2017, Ayoub started hosting a weekly cultural program on a radio station and also took on hosting duties for the daily TV show “Culture Club” on Kan 11.

Her role as Israel’s jury spokesperson at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 stirred media attention when Israeli Minister of Culture and Sport, Miri Regev, objected to Ayoub speaking Arabic during the live broadcast without mentioning Jerusalem.

Ayoub co-hosted the green room of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv with Assi Azar while Erez Tal and Bar Refaeli hosted the main event. Prior to this, Ayoub and Azar hosted the semi-final allocation draw at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. She also appears in the fourth season of the Netflix series “Fauda.” In November 2021, she announced her departure from IPBC to join Keshet.

Ayoub, born in Haifa, Israel, comes from a diverse background. Her father, an Arab-Christian, married her Ashkenazi Jewish mother, who converted to Christianity. Ayoub has siblings: one brother and three sisters. Her paternal grandmother, a descendant of Palestinian refugees during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, grew up in a convent in Israel and was later adopted by an affluent Arab-Christian woman named Lucy Khayat.

On her mother’s side, her grandparents were Holocaust survivors: her grandfather endured a Nazi concentration camp, while her grandmother survived as a child with partisans in Romania. Ayoub embraces both Christian and Jewish traditions, celebrating holidays with different branches of her family. She attended a Catholic Carmelites school in Haifa, where she wrote stories and poems in both Arabic and Hebrew.

Ayoub served in the Israel Defense Forces as a flight simulator instructor in the Israeli Air Force for two years before pursuing studies in philosophy, politics, economics, and law at Tel Aviv University in 2016.
