Juanita Phillips is a well-known Australian news journalist working as the weeknight presenter for ABC News. She began her broadcasting career in Brisbane in 1982.
She began her journalism career in Australia with a cadetship at the Courier Mail in Brisbane, where she remained for ten years, eventually becoming a senior feature writer and columnist. She began her TV career back in 1991, reporting and reading the news for the Ten Network in Brisbane and Sydney before joining Sky News Australia.
Ms. Phillips hosts the 7 p.m. newscast in New South Wales. She returned to Australia in 2002 to work as a journalist and news presenter for ABC. Before being selected for the position, she hosted the weekend at 7 p.m. ABC News bulletins in New South Wales and the national late edition bulletins on weekends. She co-anchored with CNN International in London before returning to Australia, where she worked for four years in various frontline jobs, presenting rolling news and business shows.
