In 2001, Jo began her career with ITV, a national independent television station and the main competitor of BBC. At ITV, Jo worked as a relief weather presenter from 2006 to 2008. She covered the Yorkshire, Granada, Tyne-Tees, and Border regions until 2009 when the station was regionalized.
In 2009, she transferred from ITV Yorkshire in Leeds, to ITV Granada, based in the neighboring city of Manchester. She has also made many appearances on non-weather-related features for ITV, in fact, one of Jo’s recent programs showed the presenter getting her hands dirty at a Lancashire farm.
She was also seen caving in Cumbria & in December 2015 she was featured in a video titled ‘Jo Blythe Takes an Autumnal Walk in Towneley Park,’ in Burnley. In 2014, while pregnant, Jo took a break from presenting and returned a year later, in 2015. As of 2020, she presents the “Early Morning Weather Forecast” for ITV Granada.
Throughout her long career with ITV, Jo has always been highly professional and there are very few marks on her finely polished performance. There was, another incident back in 2007 when she messed up her words & blurted out the word ‘t**s’ before giggling like a schoolgirl.

In November 2016, Jo was caught on camera presenting the weather forecast with an embarrassing case of cameltoe from the tight grey trousers she was wearing. The clip was later posted on YouTube where it has received over a million views. She bravely persevered through the weather update despite the obvious wardrobe malfunction.
