Gilardi came to Channel 3 Eyewitness News in November 2022, bringing her passion for weather to Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Friday’s 11 PM broadcast, and weekend evenings. Flexibility is key for Jill, as she fills in across all shifts and assists during Early Warning Weather Alert days.

Originally from Massachusetts, Jill’s fascination with weather ignited after experiencing Hurricane Gloria in 1985. Since then, she’s been captivated by tracking hurricanes and yearns to be amidst severe weather events. Whether it’s navigating through snowstorms or witnessing tropical waves at the beach, Jill’s dedication to weather exploration knows no bounds.

Before returning to New England, Jill spent 18 years away from family, most recently in Birmingham, Alabama at WBRC Fox 6 News. Her journey also took her to Omaha, Nebraska; Springfield, Missouri; and St. Joseph, Missouri, where she began her career in 2004.

Throughout her tenure, Jill has encountered a myriad of weather phenomena, from blizzards and tornado outbreaks to floods and heat waves. Notable experiences include enduring “Snowmageddon” in Birmingham shortly after starting at WBRC and even spending nights at the station. Recognized for her weather coverage, she received an honorable mention award for Best Weathercast while in Springfield.

Severe weather holds a special place in Jill’s heart, prompting her to pursue storm chasing in 2008, including working with Extreme Chase Tours. For her, each storm presents an opportunity to witness its entire life cycle and capture its essence through photography. With an unwavering passion for weather exploration, Jill continues to chase storms and share her experiences with viewers.
