Gina began reporting for Univision in Phoenix while still in college and then began hosting her own show called “Realidad en Educación.” The display only featured popular Latinos in Arizona. Gina was hired by a CBS affiliate in Tucson after graduating from Arizona State University. She anchors the morning news and does regular live updates there.

In 2001, she became a newscaster for KTTV Fox News. She stands in for the morning and evening anchors on both KTTV and KCOP. She co-anchored the KCOP weekend news with Kent Ninomiya from 2001 to 2003. Gina formerly worked as a national reporter for the entertainment show Extra before joining KTTV (television show).

She served in that capacity from 1997 to 2000. She formerly worked at KNXV, an ABC affiliate in Phoenix, before joining Extra and KTTV.
