Eden Checkol Biography
Eden Checkol is an American news reporter and journalist currently working for WISN 12 News. Eden anchors the 4:30 a.m. weekday edition of WISN 12 News This Morning and 12 News at 11 a.m. She joined WISN in 2017 as a weekend morning anchor.
Prior to her relocation to Milwaukee, Eden embarked on a rewarding two-year journey as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WISC-TV, the CBS affiliate located in Madison. During her time there, she showcased her versatility by covering a wide range of stories, from heartwarming human interest features to urgent breaking news.
One of Eden’s notable accomplishments was being among the first reporters to arrive at the scene and conduct an interview with the man who discovered Joseph Jakubowksi.
This Janesville man had captured national attention after sending a manifesto to President Donald Trump and instigating a nationwide manhunt following the theft of firearms from a local gun shop.

Eden’s career in journalism began in Duluth, Minnesota, where she made her mark as a reporter and fill-in anchor for KBJR 6 and Range 11/ CBS KDLH. During this earlier phase of her journey, she embraced the role of a multimedia journalist, shouldering multiple responsibilities such as researching, shooting footage, and editing her own stories.
