Lindsey Slater Biography
Lindsey Slater is a highly acclaimed American meteorologist who currently works for WISN12 in Milwaukee. She joined the WISN weather team back in 2016, She has always been fascinated by the weather from an early age.
In June 2016, Slater joined the esteemed WISN 12 Weather Team, bringing her passion for meteorology to the forefront. Her educational journey paved the way for her success, as she graduated from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a B.S. in Environmental Science. Additionally, she pursued her interest in broadcast meteorology by obtaining a B.S. from Mississippi State University while working in Jackson, Mississippi.
From a young age, Slater found herself captivated by the intricacies of weather in all its forms. Living in Milwaukee, she developed a keen interest in storms, often dashing outside with her camera to capture snapshots of the atmospheric phenomenon that unfolded before her eyes.
Slater’s meteorological career took flight in 2006 when she interned alongside Chief Meteorologist Mark Baden right at WISN 12. This invaluable experience provided her with firsthand exposure to the dynamic world of weather reporting.
She further honed her skills as part of the WKOW Weather Team in Madison, Wisconsin, where she polished her on-camera presence. Additionally, she had the opportunity to intern at the National Weather Service in Sullivan, Wisconsin, deepening her understanding of meteorological processes and forecasting.
In 2009, Slater and her husband ventured to Mississippi, where she assumed the role of morning weather anchor at Fox affiliate WDBD-TV.
During her time there, she covered significant weather events, including the historic tornado outbreak of April 27, 2011, major flooding along the Mississippi River, and even a snowstorm. The experiences gained during her tenure in Mississippi provided her with invaluable insights and a diverse range of weather reporting skills.
Subsequently, in 2012, Slater made a move to Springfield, Missouri, just one year after the devastating EF-5 tornado struck Joplin. While in Springfield, she covered a wide array of weather phenomena, from severe storms to snow and ice, showcasing her ability to adapt to different climates and conditions.
Finally, in 2016, she made a triumphant return to her roots, joining the WISN 12 team once again. With her wealth of experience and unwavering passion for meteorology, Slater continues to deliver accurate and engaging weather forecasts to the community she calls home.

Lindsey is married to her husband Mark. Lindsey and Mark moved to Mississippi in 2009 when Lindsey started to work at FOX 40 WDBD-TV. The duos are active on social media and are seen posting their photos together. She shared her husband’s photo on Twitter, saying she just celebrated her 10th anniversary on 7 December 2017.
