Donnie is a vastly recognized weather forecaster who is currently working as a chief meteorologist for Newschannel 12 WCTI. Before coming to the station, he worked at WCYB-TV as a weekday morning weather anchor and reporter in Bristol, Virginia. 

It is also known that Cox worked as a WTVF-TV meteorologist in Nashville. During this time, he did a report coverage of Category 5 Hurricanes of both Mitch and Ivan. Moreover, he has co-hosted a 30-minute segment as well as an episode of Judge Judy with Ayres and Kozsey.
