Brendan Cole is a New Zealand ballroom dancer who specializes in Latin American dancing. He is best known for his appearances on the BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing as a professional dancer. He was a judge on the New Zealand edition of Dancing with the Stars from 2005 to 2009.
He began his career as a builder and roofer before becoming a professional dancer. He danced as an amateur with Camilla Dallerup, a fellow participant on the BBC’s previous long-running show Come Dancing, from 1996 to 2002, and then as a professional from 2002 to 2004. Dallerup is a New Zealand athlete of Danish origin.
In 2003, Dallerup and Cole finished third for Latin America in the UK Closed Championships. In the winter of 2004, he made his acting debut in the UK feature film Everything to Dance For, alongside Sasha Jackson, Travis Oliver, and Sally Reeve.
In October 2009, Cole appeared on the New Zealand travel show Intrepid Journeys. During a hunting session in Vanuatu, he was witnessed killing and consuming a chicken, which gained international attention.
