April Warnecke Biography
April Warnecke is an American journalist as well as a meteorologist working at 3TV and KTVK in Phoenix, Arizona. From Monday through Friday, between 4:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., she works mostly as a broadcast meteorologist.
Warnecke began her career at “3TV” in 2005. She also worked for “KASW-TV,” “WVUE-DT” (New Orleans), “WAFF” (an NBC affiliate in Alabama), “WCSC-TV” (a CBS affiliate in South Carolina), “KPLC” (a Louisiana-based NBC affiliate), and “WOIO-TV” in Cleveland. She is a weather forecaster for 3TV’s Good Morning Arizona as of 2019.
She enjoys forecasting monsoon storms and feels the season’s uncertainty adds to its appeal. Our Arizona weather is one of a kind, with everything from graupel, hail, and dust storms to flash flooding and lightning.
While reporting a game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the University of Arizona Wildcats, Warnecke was struck by lightning. During a live throw, Scott Pasmore of Good Morning Arizona noted Warnecke is “all up Diamondback, all down Wildcat.” ‘That really soon got really embarrassing,’ Warnecke said, laughing at first.
When it comes to occupational dangers, a slip of the tongue is extremely common among live TV newscasters. Scott Pasmore of Good Morning Arizona exemplified this in a recent report on a game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the University of Arizona Wildcats. When Pasmore made a gaffe during the game, he and co-anchor Olivia Fierro emphasized how Warnecke is a supporter of both teams.
