Boyer began his journalism career at WVIT-TV as a general assignment reporter. He has since worked at different stations such as WFLD-TV (Chicago, IL), WTTG-TV (Washington, DC), WTXF-TV (Philadelphia, PA), KMSP-TV (Eden Prairie, MN), and KTBC-TV (Austin, TX) among others.
