Willie Geist Biography and Wiki
Willie Geist is an American journalist currently working for NBC News as the host of Sunday Today, co-host of Morning Joe, and fill-in anchor of the Today Show.
Willie began his journalism career at CNN Sports Illustrated as a producer and editor and later a field producer and reporter for CNN Sports. He covered the Super Bowl, The Masters, and the NCAA Final Four.
After Don Imus was fired in late April 2007, Geist became a substitute co-host on MSNBC’s 6–9 a.m. morning time slot. In September 2007, he was named permanent co-host of Morning Joe, alongside Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
He began hosting his own 30-minute program Way Too Early with Willie Geist in late July 2009. His show airs at 5:30 a.m. immediately before Morning Joe on MSNBC. In 2010, he began substituting for Matt Lauer as the show’s newsreader and as host of the Today Show.
He became an official co-host of Today in November 2012, and left Way Too Early. In 2016, Willie was the host of the new Sunday Today that launched in April. He has also contributed to NBC Sports and NBC News’s coverage of every Olympic Games since 2010.
