Ewing made her debut at WNEM, a local television station in Flint, Michigan, where she served as an anchor and reporter. She covered stories on an unethical city home construction project, the horrible killing and murder case of 4-year-old Dominick Calhoun, and even former Vice President Joe Biden while there.

Tia moved to KTXL in Sacramento, California, after Flint, where she began her work as a reporter. She was appointed anchor and reporter within a few months. Ewing did work as an evening anchor for KTXL Fox 40 for nearly a year.

Ewing recalls being in the car with her mother at Chicago’s near west side’s west loop when they came across a “big” sign that read HARPO. She wanted to know what HARPO was since there was a line block between them. She discovered that HARPO was a multimedia production firm formed by Oprah Winfrey after doing some research. Tia was inspired by Oprah and knew she wanted to be a journalist at the time.

Her interest in broadcast journalism started right in the city where she was born and raised, “Chicago.” she is so honored and thrilled to be back home in the Windy City. She has a lot of families who were born and raised in Chicago too and still call the city home.
