Sima Kotecha is a British television and radio journalist working for the BBC. She joined BBC News as the Midlands Correspondent in January 2017, and she appears regularly on television news bulletins. She also hosts the BBC One news bulletin at 8 p.m., as well as Up All Night on Radio 5 Live, 5 Live Breakfast and Drivetime, and Newsday on the BBC World Service.

Sima holds a master’s degree in media and communications from Goldsmiths College, University of London. During her career, Kotecha held various positions in the world of journalism. From 2005 to 2010, she worked as a reporter in New York, contributing to Talking Movies and BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat. The accused, Russell Rawlingson, was set to stand trial at Leicester Crown Court on April 21, 2021, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
