Sam Burns Biography
Sam Burns is an American professional golf player playing for the PGA Tour. He won the 2021 Valspar Championship. Burns played college golf at Louisiana State University.
At the Sanderson Farms Championship in October 2017, he played his first professional round on the PGA Tour. A week later, he raced in the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and placed T20 after completing T43.
He received automatic entry into the first 12 Web.com Tour events of the 2018 season thanks to his T10 performance in the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament.
He placed second in the Colombia Championship in February 2018. Burns played with Tiger Woods in the final round of the Honda Classic, where he finished T7, earning him a ticket in the Valspar Championship, where he finished T12.
Sam defeated Roberto Castro by one stroke in the 2018 Savannah Golf Championship on the Web.com Tour after making a birdie on each of the final three holes to claim his first professional victory.
He was given a berth on the PGA Tour following the 2018 Web.com season. He has been a member of the PGA Tour since the beginning of the 2018–19 season.
He was third in the Genesis Invitational in February 2021 by himself, one stroke behind Tony Finau and Max Homa, who went on to win the competition.
Sam became the first American to triumph on the PGA Tour when he won the Valspar Championship in May. He fired a final round 68 to win by three strokes over Keegan Bradley. At the AT&T Open two weeks later, he came in second place to K.H. Lee.
