Scotto began her journalism career at WTBS as a reporter and associate producer. She then joined r WABC-TV’s Good Morning New York where she worked as a reporter. She worked for Good Morning New York and The Morning Show for one year and then transitioned to a reporter for  WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News.

In 1986, Rosanna joined Fox 5 WNYW initially as a weekend anchor and reporter and later as the weekday anchor of Fox 5 News. She also anchored the 5 and 10 pm newscasts with Ernie Anastos. She was promoted and named the anchor of Good Day New York in 2008. She hosts the show alongside Greg Kelly.
