Herbick started her career at CBS Pittsburgh to work full-time after graduating. Her first job was as a reporter for their sports channel, where she worked on the show Steelers Saturday Night. She subsequently relocated to Ohio and began working for WTOV9, a local television station centered in the tiny cities of Steubenville and Wheeling.
She not only hosted three nightly newscasts but also reported live from the scene and created some of the station’s news features. She mainly covered political, criminal, and lifestyle items for the station while working as a reporter. One of her career highlights was when she reported a case that made national headlines in 2012 an adolescent rape case in 2013, which drew attention from around the world.
The story made headlines across the country, with various news sites commenting on rape culture in schools as well as the potential perils of social media. Two boys were imprisoned for just one and two years, respectively, and were not put on the sex-offender register.
Herbick rose to prominence as a result of her coverage of the crime, and she relocated to Cleveland in 2013 to join the Fox8 crew. She now co-hosts New Day Cleveland with Dave Moss every weekday at 10 a.m. She co-anchors the weekday news at 4 p.m. in the evenings.
