Naga Munchetty Biography

Naga Munchetty is a British television presenter, news anchor as well as a journalist whereby she hosts BBC Breakfast on a regular basis. She has previously hosted BBC World News and BBC Two’s weekday financial affairs show Working Lunch.

Munchetty began her television career as a reporter for Reuters Financial Television, then went on to work for CNBC Europe as a senior producer, Channel 4 News as a business producer and reporter, and Bloomberg Television as a presenter. She joined Working Lunch after it was relaunched in October 2008, and stayed with it till it was canceled in July 2010.

Munchetty has hosted Money Box on Radio 4. She also contributes to BBC News from the City, where she gauges public reaction to major financial stories such as the Budget and the Pre-Budget Report. She has been presenting early morning briefings (UKT) on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News since August 2010. She is frequently on BBC One’s Breakfast program.

She took over as host of the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Radio 5 shows on Mondays and Wednesdays from January 2021, replacing Emma Barnett, who moved to Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. She and Sally Taylor co-hosted The Spending Review – The South Today Debate on BBC One in September 2010.

Munchetty is a jazz trumpeter who also plays classical piano. She enjoys golf and has a nine-hole handicap in 2015. She won the Hertfordshire de Paula Cup at Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club in October 2012.
