A Gainesville, Florida native, Maya Rudolph is an actress, comedian, and singer known for her appearances in Saturday Night Live and Idiocracy. She is in a relationship with Paul Thomas Anderson and has four children.

She received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of US Senator and Vice-Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris on Saturday Night Live. While Harris campaigned for and was elected vice president, she continued to play the character.

Maya Rudolph has appeared in a number of other television episodes, including the CBS medical dramas City of Angels and Chicago Hope. She also served as a music supervisor for Duets.

Her breakthrough film performance was in A Prairie Home Companion in 2006. Rudolph’s self-titled variety show television pilot aired on May 19, 2014, but the show did not go on to become a full-fledged series.
