Matt Wright is an American journalist working at Fox 8 as a reporter. he has previously served as a reporter and fill-in anchor with NBC2 and ABC7 in Fort Myers, Florida.
While still at Fox 8, Wright led breaking coverage of the Ohio State terror incident, reported live through protests over disputed police killings, and recorded the city’s pleasure when the Cavaliers won the NBA title. Throughout the election season, Matt also reported from the 2016 Republican National Convention and presidential campaign appearances in Northeast Ohio.
He covered courts and the judicial system, as well as Florida politics, for NBC2 and ABC7 in Fort Myers, Florida, setting the record right in “truth tests” of political commercials. His investigations uncovered government waste, an increase in young drug usage, and criminal activity at an off-road mud park. Wright formerly worked at WETM in Elmira, New York.
