Mara Liasson Biography and Wikipedia

Mara Liasson is a Popular American political analyst and journalist and also a contributor at Fox News Channel . Mara is currently employed by NPR as a national political journalist. As a general assignment reporter and newscaster, Mara started her career at NPR in 1985. Prior to becoming managing editor and anchor of California Edition, Mara worked as a freelance radio and television reporter in San Francisco.

Liasson was born and brought up in the USA by her loving parents. She attended Scarsdale High School, where she received her diploma in 1973. Additionally,  She was one of the few students from Scarsdale High School who helped form the Scarsdale Alternative School, an experimental democratic community that still exists today. Mara earned a Bachelor of Arts in American history from Brown Campus and graduated with the class of 1977.

Liasson position at NPR is national political correspondent. The award-winning newsmagazine programs Morning Edition and All Things Considered on NPR frequently include Mara’s reporting. She provides in-depth reporting on politics and policy out of Washington, DC, with a focus on the White House and Congress, as well as reporting on political trends outside the Beltway.

She has covered seven presidential elections during her time on the field: 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016. From 1989 through 1992, she served as NPR’s congressional correspondent.

As a general assignment reporter and newscaster, Mara started her career at NPR in 1985. She also took a leave of absence from NPR from September 1988 to June 1989 to pursue a Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism at Columbia Campus in New York.

She worked as an independent radio and television reporter in San Francisco prior to joining NPR. A print journalist at The Vineyard Gazette in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, and managing editor and anchor of California Edition, a nightly news show on California Public Radio, were further positions held by Mara.
