Mallory Nicholls Biography
Mallory Nicholls is a well-known American News journalist currently working for Spectrum News 13 as a weekend meteorologist. She was previously working for WPDE and WJHL as a weekend metrologist before Spectrum 13 News.
Nicholls has been forecasting the weather with the Spectrum News 13 family since September 2013. She moved around after graduating from North Carolina State University near her hometown.
Even though she’s delivered forecasts in Tennessee and South Carolina, she always wanted to find her way to Florida. A passion for tropical meteorology, Mallory loves tracking the life cycle of a tropical event.
Mallory recently received her master’s degree in emergency management in order to better prepare for delivering torrential weather forecasts. Mallory finds it really important to communicate through an entire weather event, from what’s going to happen, how to handle it, and how to recover afterward.
Mallory’s exemplary coverage has earned her not only a Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association but also the Certification for Broadcast Meteorology from the American Meteorological Society.
In addition, Mallory is the proud recipient of the Florida Emergency Preparedness Agencies Media Award in 2018. She’s covered emergencies especially close to home, including Hurricane Irma. That was the first time she tracked a storm that directly impacted the Central Florida community, and she has a personal interest in communicating information as effectively as possible.
In her free time, Mallory enjoys going to Disney and Universal as a season pass holder and especially likes walking around Epcot. She loves trying new foods she is a self-proclaimed foodie but her favorite place to grab dinner is Guru in Clermont.
Mallory is a runner and has completed a few dozen half-marathons and recently completed her first full marathon. Mallory has finally found a place she wants to stay, especially when it comes to tracking the weather. The best-kept secret in Orlando? Keeping off Interstate 4 while the sun is up.
