Lexi Thomson is an American professional golf player playing for LPGA Tour. At the age of 12, she became the youngest golfer to ever qualify for the US Women’s Open. She began her professional career when she was 15 years old, in June 2010.

When Thompson won the Navistar LPGA Classic on September 18, 2011, at the age of 16 years, seven months, and eight days, she set a new record as the youngest-ever winner of an LPGA tournament. She won the Dubai Ladies Masters by four strokes on December 17, 2011, marking her as the second-youngest winner of a Ladies European Tour event.

At the age of twelve, Thompson became the youngest player to qualify for the United States Women’s Open in 2007. She didn’t make the cut after shooting 86-82 in the event. In 2014, Lucy Li broke the previous record. She also won the Aldila Junior Classic in 2007, becoming the second-youngest winner in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA).

She also won the Westfield Junior PGA Championship, making her the tournament’s youngest winner ever. In 2008, she won the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship. In 2008, she qualified for the US Women’s Open for the second time, shooting 75-77 and missed the cut by two strokes.
