Kristine Sorensen is an American news journalist currently working as a news anchor for KDKA New in Pittsburgh. She anchors KDKA-TV News at 5 p.m., as well as special reports and Kidsburgh stories, in partnership with Kidsburgh.org.
Sorensen joined KDKA-TV as a reporter and anchor in April 2003. She anchors KDKA-TV News at 5 p.m., as well as special reports and Kidsburgh stories, in partnership with Kidsburgh.org, featuring the positive things in our community for kids and families. Kristine also hosted “Pittsburgh Today Live” for 11 years on KDKA.
Kristine came to KDKA-TV after working as a reporter and anchor in Dallas, Texas. She earned a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a Bachelor’s Degree in Government with a minor in dance from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

That story went viral online and has been seen by more than 2 million people. Kristine has also won an Edward R. Murrow award for reporting and an AP Award for hosting Pittsburgh Today Live which won the best news talk show.
