Katie Dupree is an American news journalist currently working as a news meteorologist for WRIC News FOX 8. She joined WRIC-TV in July of 2013. She came to Richmond from 9&10 News in northern Michigan.

She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in December of 2010. While studying at CMU, she interned at WDIV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit.

She also interned with the Doppler 9&10 Weather Team before she was hired full-time for her first on-air job. Katie is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has earned their highest distinction as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.

This includes a rigorous written test of meteorological knowledge, as well as a graded broadcast portion. She has also earned awards from the Associated Press for Best Weathercast in a large TV market with the 8News weather team in 2013, and a meritorious award for Best Individual Weathercast in 2015.
