Julie Gargotta Biography
Julie Gargotta is a well-known American journalist born in Italy, She now works as an anchor and reporter for Spectrum News 13. She also works for bay News 9.
Ms. Gargotta joined Spectrum News 13 in December 2014 and has covered a wide range of issues, including technology, business, politics, and development. She’s followed neighbors in east Orange County as they fought for clean, cheap water in their community; she’s also tried to balance the experiences of individuals who supported and opposed projects.
Julie has written extensively on the University of Central Florida’s PTSD clinic, UCF Restores, while it fought to stay open and finally received legislative support to expand.
Julie has also covered Orlando’s growing technology sector, spotlighting creative firms and ideas, and has traveled to cover major events ranging from the one-year anniversary of Category 5 Hurricane Michael in the Panhandle to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
During the epidemic, Julie focused her reporting on Central Florida businesses that were responding and collaborated with the Orlando Economic Partnership on a series about industries that were rebounding.
