Jon Bernthal Biography and Wiki
Jon Bernthal is an American actor. He rose to fame in the early 2000s for his role as Shane Walsh on the AMC horror series The Walking Dead (2010–2012; 2018), where he was a starring cast member for the first two seasons.
In 2009, Bernthal was a series regular on the ABC television series Eastwick, where he co-starred with actress Jaime Ray Newman (his future co-star in The Punisher). In 2010, Bernthal portrayed Sgt. Manuel Rodriguez in the HBO miniseries The Pacific.
In 2016, he played Brax in Ben Affleck’s thriller The Accountant. He was also interviewed for the 2016 documentary Can’t Be Stopped, which was about the Los Angeles graffiti squad of the same name. Wind River, the directorial debut of Sicario writer Taylor Sheridan, premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in 2017.
Jon has also performed as a voice actor in video games for PC and consoles, and his appearance has been used for NPCs (Non-Playing Characters).
He appears in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands as LT Cole D. Walker, and while he was shown in a trailer for Borderlands 3, which was released in 2019, he made no voice or likeness appearances in that game.
In October 2018, Bernthal was cast in the dark comedy film Snow Ponies, which was notably listed on the 2006 Black List. Since the first casting announcement, the project has remained in development. He has also remained in production after being cast in the film Stingray starring Joel Edgerton in October 2016.

Bernthal graduated from Sidwell Friends School in 1995. He was noticed while performing in the Moscow Art Theatre by the executive director of Harvard University’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he studied as a graduate-level certificate student until 2002. He traveled to New York City after graduation to seek a career in theater.
