Jeff Probst Biography

Jeff Probst is an American reality show host, actor, and executive producer. He is known as the host of the U.S. version of the reality television show Survivor. He has also hosted The Jeff Probst Show, Rock & Roll Jeopardy!, and Survivor: Blood vs Water Preview.

Probst was initially married to his first wife Shelley Wright, from 1996 to 2001. He then dated Julie Berry a contestant of Survivor: Vanuatu in 2004 and broke up in early 2008.

Probst initially hosted Backchat, a half-hour show dedicated to answering viewer letters on FX. He was the host of Rock & Roll Jeopardy! from 1998 to 2001 on VH1. He also wrote and directed the film Finder’s Fee released by Lionsgate. In 2001, People magazine named Jeff one of the “50 Most Beautiful People”.

Probst regularly contributes to Jeopardy! by giving Survivor-related clues from the show’s venues. He has appeared on Celebrity Jeopardy!, first in 2001 and again in 2003, and made numerous cameo appearances during April 1, 2010 episode.

Probst was also a regular guest star on the sketch show MADtv, guest starring once a season since the show’s 9th season. He also hosts the “Celebrity Superfan Roundtable” for Howard Stern. He hosts the globally syndicated American reality show Survivor since its inception in 2000.

As an actor, he has appeared in films such as Family Guy, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother and Fillmore!. As a director and producer, he has directed films such as Kiss Me (2014) and Finder’s Fee (2001).
