Jason Belmonte Biography and Wiki
Jason Belmonte is an Australian professional ten-pin bowler. He competes on the PBA Tour in the United States and in international tournaments. He is recognized for being one of the first bowlers to receive public notice for delivering his shot with a two-handed approach.
Jason was introduced to ten-pin bowling when he was one and a half years old. He started competing when he was three years old. Because of his youth, he chose the two-handed method, which he has maintained to this day.
He also won five gold medals at the Junior National Championships in 2000, was nominated to the Youth Australia squad in 2001, and returned to the team in 2002 and 2004.
In 2001, Belmonte has crowned Orange Junior Sportsperson of the Year, and in 2002, he was named Senior Sportsperson of the Year. In 2002 and 2003, he was voted Orange Sportsperson of the Year.
Belmonte won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Scotland. Belmonte played in the World Tenpin Bowling Association championships held by the Fédération Internationale des Quilleurs (FIQ), currently known as the International Bowling Federation (IBF) (WTBA).
Despite failing to win a tournament in the first nine events of the 2021 season, he accumulated enough points to qualify for the PBA Tour Playoffs, finishing 14th. Belmonte, on the other hand, chose to skip the tournament in order to give birth to his fourth child in Australia. In addition, despite qualifying for both events, he declined to play in the PBA Tour Finals on June 26-27.
