Holly Morris is an American journalist working as a reporter at WTTG in Washington DC since joining in 1998. Morris is one of four anchors for the morning newscast, which runs from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and the Good Day DC show, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 

Morris worked as an editorial director at Seal Press, a publishing house that was acquired by Avalon in 2003 and then Perseus in 2007. She edited fiction and nonfiction books on Third Wave Feminism, health, international politics, and travel, among other topics.

She is presently the executive producer, writer, director, and host of Adventure Divas: Searching the Globe for a New Kind of Heroine, an eight-part PBS documentary series, and she was an author of Adventure Divas: Searching the Globe for a New Kind of Heroine.

It was the Editor’s Choice of the New York Times. Bangladesh, Borneo, Brazil, Cuba, Gabon, India, Iran, Malawi, Syria, Ukraine, and Zambia are just a few of the places where she has produced work.

She now presents Treks in the Wild World, a Pilot Productions adventure series, and she is also one of the hosts of Globe Trekker, a travel show. She is a correspondent for National Geographic Today and the Outdoor Investigations environmental series.

PowderKeg Writer’s Residency in Brooklyn, New York, was founded by her in 2010. Her piece about a group of “self-settlers” living in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone was published in 2010 and is still available online. She gave a TED presentation and was included in the documentary Gringo Trail, both of which were released in 2013.
