Graham Elliot is an American chef, restaurateur, and reality television personality. He initially rose to prominence in the restaurant industry as a three-time James Beard Award contender. He was selected to Food & Wine’s “Best New Chefs” list in 2004, making him the youngest chef in the US to get four stars from a major journal.

He has appeared on Iron Chef and Top Chef Masters as a contestant. He was a judge on MasterChef and its spinoff, MasterChef Junior.

Graham was selected to Food & Wine’s “Best New Chefs” list in 2004. He was the first American chef under the age of 30 to get four stars from a major newspaper (Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times).

At the age of 27, he became the city’s youngest four-star chef, earning a position on Crain’s Chicago Business “40 Under Forty” list with President Barack Obama, for whom Elliot prepared a meal on the President’s 49th birthday. He established his eponymous restaurant in May 2008, which was Chicago’s first French casual fine dining restaurant.

Graham was a contestant on Top Chef Masters in 2009. He cooked for The Heart and Stroke Foundation on the show, a charity with which he became involved after his nephew needed a heart transplant. Elliot was one of the three judges on the first season of MasterChef, which debuted in 2010.

In 2013, the series launched MasterChef Junior, a children’s version of the show on which Elliot also served as a judge. Following the conclusion of Season 6 of the parent program in September 2015, he quit the series.  He joined Top Chef as a judge in 2016.
