Farah Jadran Biography

A Chicago native, Farah Jadran is a journalist known for working as a morning anchor for KING 5 News. She is married to her husband Niko Tamurian. She is also a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles.

Jadran began her media career as a magazine writer and editor in 2006. She assisted in the founding of Syracuse Woman Magazine, the region’s first and only award-winning women’s publication, in 2011. It’s still available online and on newsstands throughout CNY.

For nearly four years, Jadran was the managing editor of SWM, a publication dedicated to women’s health, education, politics, culture, and business. She assisted with the debut of WCNY’s “Insight” in 2012, a public affairs television show that tackled tough issues in multiple Upstate New York counties.

She covered the heroin crisis in numerous Central New York counties, vacant housing problems hurting towns, and the long-running work to clean up Onondaga Lake as the host and co-producer before leaving a year later.

Farah left SWM to work for Time Warner Cable News, which specialized in digital, social media, and broadcast journalism at the time. She returned to becoming an on-air journalist in 2015, anchoring and covering stories that mattered to her community. Farah was a morning reporter at WSYR-TV before joining the CNY Central crew. She participates in Hope for Heather Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Helping Hounds Dog Rescue as a volunteer.
