Eleni Giokos is an American journalist working for CNN as a correspondent based in Johannesburg. She initially worked for Bloomberg TV Africa as a senior anchor and eNews Channe Africa as a news and Business Anchor.

Joining the CNN network in 2015, she has proven to be one of their most versatile correspondents, conducting notable interviews with influential leaders. Some of her interviewees include former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, former South African President Jacob Zuma, ECB President Christine Lagarde, and Director Kristalina Georgieva, among others.

Her career in journalism began to flourish in 2006 when she landed a position as a news anchor at YFM. Afterward, she moved on to CNBC Africa, where she spent five years as an anchor.

Her daily contribution to the network included presenting the segment “Closing Bell Africa” during the weekdays from 4 pm to 6 pm. With a passion for media training, Eleni also served as the Head of Media Training at ABN Training Institute in 2013.

In 2012, she ventured into eNews Channel Africa (eNCA) as a News and Business Anchor. Her time slot for anchoring at eNCA was between 9 am CAT and 1 pm CAT, bringing informative news to viewers during those hours.

Following her successful stint at eNCA, she became a senior anchor for Bloomberg TV Africa, a role she held for one year and seven months. During her time at Bloomberg TV Africa, she hosted “African Business Weekly” at both 4 pm and 7 pm, engaging the audience with insightful business news.
