Egypt Sherrod Biography

Egypt Sherrod is a well-known American radio and TV personality and also a real estate broker who is famous for being the host of HGTV’s Flipping Virgins and the longtime show Property Virgins.

Egypt is regarded as America’s most beloved real estate agent as the host of HGTV’s  Property Virgins and Flipping Virgins. The presenter has appeared as the actual estate agent on CNBC, NBC Today’s Show, FOX, CNN, and HLN. She has also featured in Black Enterprise, Rolling Stone, Fast Company, and Time Out New York.

In addition to that, she has authored a best-selling book namely  Keep Calm…It’s Just Real Estate: Your No-Stress Guide To Buying A Home. She also serves as a columnist for Atlanta Magazine & Atlanta Magazine’s Home Edition.

The host founded a nonprofit organization, The Egypt Cares Family Foundation which is dedicated to financial empowerment and awareness in 2008. She conducted an overnight empowerment boot camp for an event called  Sister Keeper Shut In in 2013.

Egypt is married to her husband Mike Jackson. They held their wedding on September 11, 2010, in an outdoor attendance among friends and families. The wedding was held at the West Mount Country Club on top of Garrett Mountain in New Jersey.

Egypt and her husband Mike welcomed their second daughter on February 7, 2020. The newborn baby was named Harper Skye Jackson. Harper measured 20½ inches long and weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz., upon her arrival in Atlanta.

Harper is the sister of 7-year-old Kendall Jackson the first daughter of Egypt and Mike, as well as Jackson’s 17-year-old daughter Simone Jackson from his first marriage.

Sherrod began hosting a jazz station when he was 18 years old. At the age of 19, she became the country’s youngest music director for a radio station. She purchased her first home when she was 24 years old.

She also worked as a correspondent for the Maury program. She was the number one radio personality on WBLS 107.5 in New York City, where she interviewed Prince, Tyler Perry, and Oprah.

The show was syndicated in over 60 places across the United States. Her celebrity connections boosted her real estate customers. She considered quitting the radio because she was sick of hearing “gossip and showbiz stories.”
