David Faber Biography

David Faber is a well-known American market news analyst and financial journalist. He is currently working for CNBC as one of the co-hosts of the morning show “Squawk on the Street”.

After seven years at Institutional Investor, Faber joined CNBC in 1993. CNBC coworkers have dubbed him “The Brain,” and he has hosted several documentaries on corporations such as Wal-Mart and eBay. The Age of Walmart won Faber a Peabody Award in 2005, as well as an Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award for Broadcast Journalism.

For “House of Cards,” he shared the Gerald Loeb Award for Television Enterprise business journalism in 2010. In addition to Squawk on the Street, Faber hosts Business Nation, a monthly program that debuted on the network on January 24, 2007.

Faber has written three books: The Faber Report (2002), And Then the Roof Caved In (2009), and House of Cards: The Origins of the Collapse (2012). (2010). From August 2–6, 2021, she was a guest host on Jeopardy! In 2012, Faber was the Celebrity Jeopardy! champion.
