Colin Jost is an American comedian, actor, and writer. Since 2005, he has been the writer for Saturday Night Live as well as the Weekend Update co-anchor since 2014.
Jost’s career as a writer started as a reporter and copy editor for the Staten Island Advance after graduation. He was then hired as a writer for Kappa Mikey, a short-lived Nickelodeon animated show. After leaving that job, he submitted a writing packet to NBC’s Saturday Night Live, which hired him as a writer in 2005.
He was SNL’s writing supervisor from 2009 to 2012. From 2012 to 2015, he was co-head writer, and he regained that position in late 2017. Jost and Michael Che were both announced as special correspondents for WrestleMania 35 on the March 4, 2019, episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw. They were involved in a storyline with wrestler Braun Strowman in the March 4 episode, which resulted in both Jost and Che competing in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania.
Jost and Che went under the ring for the majority of the match before attempting to eliminate Strowman while he was attempting to do the same to the Hardy Boyz. Jost attempted to calm the situation by using his therapist, but Strowman choke slammed him and quickly eliminated the two comedians, winning the battle royal.
