Catie Beck is an American journalist, reporter, and anchor who currently works at NBC News as a correspondent. Before joining the NBC News team, she worked for 11alive as a reporter and correspondent.
While in Richmond, Beck received a Preservation Advocacy community award for her ongoing coverage of the city’s neglected properties. Beck earned an Emmy for her investigative reporting in 2012. In addition, she has also been honored by the Associated Press and the Virginia Association of Broadcasters, as well as multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Beck became a member of 11Alive in December of 2013. Beck formerly worked as a reporter in Richmond, Virginia, where she was known for being a government watchdog reporter who kept municipal officials on their toes.
In addition, Catie investigated system-wide fraud and failures throughout dysfunctional school systems and Richmond’s Department of Social Services, with the majority of her investigations focusing on the acts of elected officials. Her investigations resulted in significant changes in both process and leadership over her four years in Richmond.
