Betty Liu is a Chinese-American Executive, journalist, news anchor, author. She is the Executive Vice Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange and the Intercontinental Exchange’s Chief Experience Officer. Liu joined the NYSE Group after ICE acquired her ed-tech startup, Radiate.
she began her career in financial journalism as a Hong Kong-based regional correspondent and Dow Jones Newswires’ youngest Taiwan Bureau Chief. She then became the Atlanta Bureau Chief for the Financial Times, where she broke stories on top corporate and political figures such as Coca-Cola ex-CEO Douglas Daft, former Home Depot CEO Bob Nardelli, and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.
Liu returned to Asia as an anchor and correspondent for CNBC Asia, where she covered daily market action in the Greater China region for all of CNBC’s morning shows, including Squawk Box. She has also written for The Wall Street Journal and Far Eastern Economic Review over the course of her career.
She worked for Bloomberg Television from 2007 to 2018, previously anchoring “In the Loop with Betty Liu” from its inception in 2007 until its cancellation in June 2015, when it was replaced by “Market Movers.”
Liu went on to anchor the morning show “Daybreak Asia” from New York City and was an Editor-at-Large at Bloomberg. She also hosted Bloomberg Radio’s “In the Loop, At the Half.” Liu founded RadiateInc.com in 2017, a subscription website that offers business micro-lessons from top CEOs.
