Nagaoka hosts Hawaii News Now’s “First at Four” newscast at 4 p.m. on KHNL and “This Is Now,” a popular lunchtime round-up show on KHNL and HNN’s streaming platforms, at 12 p.m. She began her career at KGMB in Honolulu, where she worked as a news reporter and producer. The Kauai native subsequently relocated to Washington, D.C., where she served as the press secretary and spokeswoman for then-US Representative Colleen Hanabusa.
Ashley returned to Hawaii after five years on Capitol Hill and joined Anthology Marketing Group, one of Honolulu’s premier marketing and communications organizations. She was in charge of public affairs for tourist, government, energy, land development, and agriculture clients there. Ashley then returned to KGMB in 2017, this time as part of the Hawaii News Now crew.
