Kozak has forecasted at a number of stations around the country, most recently at KCTV in Kansas City and KVUE in Austin. Andrew also worked for WMC in Memphis for three years.

He also worked as a meteorologist in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he also co-hosted a morning program, in Wichita, Kansas, and Casper, Wyoming. His interest in weather began with a 35-foot-long sock. In The Wizard of Oz, that was the prop used to produce the tornado.

He first witnessed that iconic scene when he was four years old, at his parents’ home in Staten Island, New York. It soon became a passion, and then a profession, in weather. After watching the computers he uses crash on January 14, 2013, Kozak produced his weather drawings by hand.

His addition of a Toyota sponsorship logo that would normally appear on the computerized version, as well as a caricature of himself depicting his first frustration and later relief surrounding the computer breakdown, was a remarkable aspect.
