Amy Moreno Biography
Amy Moreno is an award-winning journalist known for working as a reporter and anchor at KING 5 News. She is married and has two sons. She is also a graduate of the University of Southern California.
Moreno began her broadcasting career in February 1999, when she joined WBKP-TV as a reporter and news anchor. She went on to work for KMPH-TV, a Fox-affiliated news station, later that year. Her first long-term job was as a reporter for CBS-affiliated station KGPE in 2000, where she also filled in as a news anchor on occasion.
She worked there from August 2007 till August 2008. Moreno worked for Tribune Broadcasting’s Q13 FOX from 2008 to 2011. She came to Haiti to chronicle the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, albeit focusing on innovative neighborhood stories. She also appeared on Washington’s Most Wanted Public Affairs Show as a guest contributor.
Amy joined the KING 5 crew on October 13, 2011. She has since been nominated for various honors, including the Associated Press TV & Radio Association’s “Reporter of the Year.” She has received Emmy, Associated Press, and RTNDA nominations and awards during her journalism career.
